“Julie’s US ‘Spring’ Tour Update”

We are pleased to report that after the first week, Julie’s USA ‘Spring’ Tour is going very well and proving to be a huge success so far with all her audiences. With so many sell out concerts along the way and fantastic feedback and response from fans who were there, Julie is absolutely delighted and wants to thank all those people who have been to see her and her band perform to date.

She is also very much looking forward to seeing all those who have tickets for the remaining concerts of the Tour, starting with a great weekend including; today/tonight (Friday 12 April) at the UVM Recital Hall - University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont (with a bonus lecture/demonstration at 4pm!), tomorrow night (Saturday 13 April) at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy, New York; and Sunday night (14 April) at the Musikfest Cafe' - Artsquest Center, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (the latter venue had to be cancelled last time round in October 2011, due to the freak snow storms that hit the area, so Julie is very much looking forward to making up for that one (weather permitting again!!).

Julie’s Tour continues over this weekend (as set out above) and through until Sunday 21 April inclusive, so if you have not yet got a ticket to catch a concert, check out the dates, venues and ticket links, etc, via the ‘Tour Dates’ page here in the website.

“BBC Radio 4 'Julie Fowlis' Heritage Well'”

Hallo everyone, as part of my time as Artist in Residence for Tobar an Dualchais I have been working on trying to bring new audiences to the archive and help raise the profile of the project, and the brilliant team who have worked so hard to get it to where it is today. Many, many people have assisted the project over the years with funding, cataloging, editing and digitising among other tasks. Tomorrow you can hear a BBC Radio 4 programme on the project, presented by me and featuring input from interesting characters including Morag MacLeod, (formerly of the School of Scottish Studies/University of Edinburgh) Mairead MacDonald (manager at Tobar an Dualchais) and Eddi Reader.

You can tune in live tomorrow morning at 11.30am using this link and remember you can listen again for 7 days on BBC iPlayer. Please share and spread the word, thank you.

'S e pròiseact iongantach a th' ann a tha airidh air barrachd cliù agus taic.  Tha e air a bhith na thlachd dhomh a bhith at obair còmhla riutha thairis air na miosan a dh' fhalbh.
