Gaelic Language Masterclasses:

Julie is delighted to be working with top Inverness based couturier Sandra Murray MBE, as they present 2 special Masterclasses for aspiring fashion designers, in the Gaelic language, with the first being held today (1 November) and the second on 7 November.

Entitled ‘An t-àm agam air a’ bhrat dhearg’ (‘My red carpet moment’), the 2 Masterclasses, which will be free of charge, are supported and funded by Commun na Gàidhlig under its Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) contract, and are aimed at Gaelic-speaking secondary school pupils aged 14 and above, and Gaelic language students wishing to specialise in fashion and textiles.

Sandra created a stunning capsule wardrobe for Julie for her red carpet appearances for the Global Premiers of Disney-Pixar’s ‘Brave’ this summer (**see further related 'STOP PRESS NEWS' item below**) and the resulting designs have been seen by an audience of millions.  Julie, dressed and styled by Sandra, also took part in a professional photoshoot, with Royal Photographer, John Swannell at a private castle by the shores of Loch Ness. Now young people can find out how it all came about from the couturier herself, at these special Masterclasses, which will be conducted in Gaelic language at Sandra’s Inverness studio, and will give an invaluable insight into the world of fashion and the challenges designers face.  Julie will be present to answer any questions relating to this unique collaboration.

Full details about the Masterclasses (in both Gaelic and English), are available from the following link:   http://www.cnag.org.uk/fiosrachadh/buthan-obrach.php
