Julie continues to be busy this week on both national TV and Radio, talking about her involvement in Disney Pixar's new animated 3D blockbuster 'Brave'.  You can listen again using the links below to hear her contributions to 'Today' on BBC Radio 4 and 'Breakfast' with Nicky Campbell on BBC Radio 5 Live (towards the last quarter of the broadcast).  Her interview on 'Newsday' on the BBC'S World Service is unavailable to listen to again at this time.  Watch out for a live performance from Julie on 'The Review Show' with Kirsty Wark on Friday on BBC 2.  The programme starts at 11.00pm.

“Julie’s Swiss Gig Date Now Confirmed and Special Performance of ‘dual’ at ‘Blas 2012’ Details Available”

We are delighted to now confirm that Julie and the Band will be performing in Switzerland on Thursday 22 November 2012 at the ‘Irish Nights’ Series of Concerts held in the Kammgarn Schaffhausen (Schaffhausen, Switzerland).  This Concert precedes Julie’s 2 dates in Germany (23 & 24 November) as previously announced.

Also appearing on the night, will be Celtic music wizards, Tim Edey and Brendan Power.

Although the Irish Nights (under the overall umbrella of the ‘Celticmusic at Kammgarn’ Programme) and Venue websites have yet to be finally updated to include Julie’s gig details (they will be soon!), tickets are now on sale via the ‘Starticket’ website (direct link -

 ‘Blas 2012’ – ‘dual’

As part of a fantastic evening entiltled ‘An Guth’ (The Voice) with an overall, exciting  line-up of artistes, Julie, will be joined by Muireann Nic Amhloaoibh, Éamon Doorley and Ross Martin, for a very rare ‘live’ performance of ‘dual’ which explores the links between Scottish and Irish music.  All details are already posted in Julies’ ‘Tour Dates’ page.

Whether you are familiar with the Album ‘dual’ or not, this is one performance not to be missed!!   This very special and unique concert will be held at Eden Court – Empire Theatre on Thursday 13 September at 7.30pm.   Tickets: £19 Adult; £15 S/C; £5 Child; £42 Family.

“Julie & Scotland Gearing up for 'Brave' Weekend Release!!”

Julie has just returned from an amazing Cambridge Folk Festival weekend where, as previously posted, she was co-presenting for Sky Arts HD TV (with BBC Radio 2 favourites, Zoe Ball and Mark Radcliffe - see details in previous 'News' item).   If you follow Julie on Twitter, you will know that she had a fantastic time and saw some superb artistes and bands (many Scottish of course!) perform at the Festival.
This coming weekend is again going to be very special for Julie, as the new and much anticipated, Disney-Pixar animated 'US box office smash hit movie 'Brave', is being officially released in cinemas throughout Scotland.........on Friday 3 August!!!   General release in the UK follows in 2 weeks time, on Friday 17 August.  In anticipation of its release, those of you who are fortunate enough to have access to STV (Scottish Television - Channel 3), can see a 'Moviejuice 'Brave' Special' programme on Wednesday 1 August at 7.30pm........

“Julie to Co-Present Sky Arts Coverage of The Cambridge Folk Festival”

We are delighted to confirm that Julie will be co-presenting ‘live’ coverage of one of the longest running and most famous folk festivals in the world - The Cambridge Folk Festival this coming weekend on Sky Arts 1 HD with fellow presenters (and BBC Radio 2 favourites) Zoe Ball and Mark Radcliffe.

With highlights of Friday (27 July) evening’s music sessions starting at 5.00pm and live coverage on both Saturday (28 July) and Sunday (29 July) – from 6.30pm each night, Sky Arts ( will feature the best traditional folk artists from the UK and Ireland as they rub shoulders with contemporary acts and the finest country, blues and roots artists and singer songwriters. Actor Stephen Mangan will also join the presenting team on Sunday to share his passion for all things folk.


The festival line-up includes: Clannad, The Unthanks, Joan Armatrading, Nanci Griffith, Angelique Kidjo, Seth Lakeman, The Proclaimers, James Vincent McMorrow, Roy Harper, June Tabor & Oysterband.

“Julie Features in ‘Brave’ Media Weekend”

This weekend has seen a full-on ‘Brave’ media frenzy as the highly anticipated release here in Scotland on 3 August (17 August rest of the UK), draws tantalisingly closer!!

Many of the top publications in Scotland, including The Herald, Daily Record, etc, featured major articles and special supplements about the movie yesterday (including the background to the story, the main cast, how the graphics were created, etc) and today – Sunday 22 July – many more newspapers are featuring special ‘Brave’ articles and supplements (including the Sunday Mail, Scotland on Sunday and the Sunday Herald, etc).
