“US Album launch and tour announced!”

We have just announced the venue and ticketing details for the forthcoming Julie Fowlis album launch tour in the United States. Julie will be joined by husband Éamon Doorley (of Irish supergroup Dan), and complimented by the much sought after guitarist Tony Byrne, and brilliant Shetland fiddler, Jenna Reid. Julie's award winning album "cuilidh" will be launched in New York on September 21st in Joe's Pub.

“2 Scottish gigs this weekend”

Hallo there, just a note to say we are playing two Scottish concerts this week - the first on Thursday July 3rd in the Pavilion in Strathpeffer and then onto the Festival Theatre in Pitlochry on Sunday July 6th. Myself, Eamon Doorley, Duncan Chishlolm, Tony Byrne and Martin O'Neill. Hope to see some locals there! Should be fun :o)

Hope you're all well and not being eaten by the midges like I am. Having a great time recording in Glenfinnan with Eamon, Muireann and Ross. Nearly a whole album recorded!

Very exciting news - Julie Fowlis will be a featured artist on a new album by Aled Jones. The double CD, entitled Aled Jones presents Good Morning Sunday will be released next week, and features an incredible list of performers, including Aled himself, Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin, Alison Krauss, Sarah MacLachlin, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Badly Drawn Boy, Kate Rusby, Al Green, Martin Simpson, Loudoun Wainwright and even Elvis Presley! Julie performs an exclusive song that she and husband Éamon recorded last year for the BBC Radio 2 show Good Morning Sunday, with Aled. It is a previously unreleased track from Julie a spiritual song called Do lmh, a Chriosda (Your hand, O Lord) written by Dmhnall Iain MacDhmhnaill and the music by Iseabail T. Dhmhnallach.
