“Some TV Viewing News Over the Festive Season!”

“Julie Announced in Line-up for the Orkney Folk Festival 2016!”

Hot on the heels of us confirming that Julie is to return to 'HebCelt 2016' for the 21st Anniversary of the Award Winning Hebridean Music Festival (see last 'News' item posted on 14 December); we are now delighted to say that Julie has been announced in the line-up for the 'Orkney Folk Festival 2016'.

 

The Festival, which runs from 23 - 29 May 2016 will be another great event for Julie to perform at and following the announcement she said "I can't wait to see everyone at what is always a fantastic Festival in Orkney".

“Julie returns to 21st Heb Celt Festival”

It has been announced that Julie and the band are amidst the exciting headliners of the 21st anniversary Hebridean Celtic Festival, performing on Friday, 15th July.  An official ambassador of the festival, Julie has grown up with the festival in many ways, and is delighted to be returning. Friends and musical colleagues Runrig and John McCusker will also be appearing.  It's going to be a great festival so grab your tickets now at www.hebceltfest.com 

In other news, Julie was delighted to attend the glitzy Scots Trad Music Awards in Dundee last week to pick up the award for 'Port' on behalf of the entire team who were involved.  This series of programmes, which Julie co-presented, featured talent from all across Ireland and Scotland.  The second series will be aired in January on both BBC Alba and TG4.

Julie is going to be busy this coming January with four very different performances at two of Scotland and Ireland’s premier Winter festivals, Celtic Connections in Glasgow and Dublin’s TradFest.

“Two Further Guest Appearances by Julie at ‘Celtic Connections 2016’”

We were delighted to let you know that the Programme and line-up for the highly acclaimed ‘Celtic Connections 2016’ Winter Festival was officially announced on 20 October; and we confirmed one ‘Guest’ performance date for  Julie (in the 'Pilgrimer' - Saturday 16 January 2016 in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall at 7.30pm) with the promise of 2 further dates to follow.

‘Just for Gordon - Celebrating a National Treasure’:

To be held on Sunday 24 January 2016 in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall at 7.30pm

January 2016 marks just over a decade since Gordon Duncan's tragic passing; but his inspirational influences still reverberate throughout the Celtic World.  

Julie joins a host of special guests, including; The Tannahill Weavers, Ross Ainslie, Ali Hutton, Jarlath Henderson, Duncan Chisholm, Angus McColl, Allan MacDonald, Stewart Liddell and the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, to pay tribute to the music of the much missed genius bagpiper/whistle player in what will be an amazing & emotional concert (http://www.celticconnections.com/events/Pages/event.aspx?ev=e62a9382-876d-40d7-9f1e-a5310144d885).

 

RANT:

To be held on Friday 29 January 2016 in The Macintosh Church at 7.30pm
